Job summary

Cooper University Health Care in South Jersey seeks an ambulatory medical assistant to support providers in primary and specialty practices. You will assist with patient care, perform clerical tasks, and help ensure efficient, compassionate service in a busy health care environment.

Responsibilities include taking vitals, EKG, venipuncture, preparing rooms, managing electronic health records, and maintaining regulatory standards under supervision of clinicians.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• Graduate of a post-secondary medical assisting education program and certification are required.
• Current BLS/CPR certification through the American Heart Association is required.
• Minimum one year of recent healthcare experience preferred.
• EKG, vital signs, venipuncture, capillary and injection experience helpful.
• Electronic health record experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of duties in ambulatory settings, including primary and specialty practices.
• Assist providers with patient care and coordination of clinical tasks.
• Handle clerical, environmental, and organizational duties as needed.
• Provide information to patients to help them utilize clinical services.
