Brown University Health Pharmacy in Rhode Island seeks a Pharmacist to interpret, evaluate, prepare, and dispense medications within ambulatory settings under appropriate supervision. The role emphasizes safe, effective, and cost-conscious medication use and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

You will participate in education of healthcare staff, maintain high professional standards, and support ongoing quality improvement initiatives across pharmacy services.

Responsabilidades

• Applies pharmacotherapeutic and pharmacokinetic principles to ensure safe and effective use of medications for the patient populations served.
• Ensures pharmacy services in area of practice are provided in accordance with established policies and procedures and federal and state rules and regulations.
• Receives patient medication orders or prescriptions from practitioners in the outpatient setting. Reviews each order to determine therapeutic appropriateness and collaborates with prescribers to optimize therapy.
• Provides education and instruction on use of medications to patients and their families, as required.
• Participates in education and training of healthcare practitioners, physicians, nurses, pharmacy interns, technicians, students, and other care providers.
• Participates in continuous quality assessment and improvement activities and total quality management initiatives.
• Maintains professional competence through staff development and independent study.
• Performs immunizations or medication administrations in accordance with Rhode Island Board of Pharmacy Rules and Regulations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
