Qualifications

• Diploma or Associate Degree in nursing from an approved program.
• Current RN licensure in Virginia or eligible or compact state.
• AHA BLS HCP certification or equivalent.
• All RN without a BSN must enroll in an approved BSN program within two years.

Responsibilities

• Delivers and documents direct, age-specific care per medical orders and plan of care.
• Safely administers prescribed medications; identifies incompatibilities/interactions.
• Organizes work, delegates tasks, and supervises staff in the unit.
• Provides education and assumes leadership responsibilities at the unit level.
• Follows ANA Code of Ethics and Virginia nursing regulations.
