Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System in Olathe is seeking an Ambulatory Clinic Nurse (RN) to join the Float Pool. You will deliver nursing care across multiple ambulatory clinics and may receive incentive float pay.

The RN utilizes the nursing process, conducts assessments, and applies independent judgment to achieve quality patient outcomes. You will work with the healthcare team to identify patient needs, educate patients and families, and manage documentation and referrals as required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor degree preferred.
• 6 months RN experience; 2+ years RN experience for ambulatory float role.
• Active RN license in good standing; multi-state license preferred; BLS certified.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care within ambulatory setting using nursing process.
• Performs preliminary assessment through observation and chart review.
• Evaluates unstable or complex patient care situations and facilitates intervention.
• Uses independent nursing judgment and collaborates with care team.
• Documents education and care provided in patient charts.
• Responds to treatment-related phone calls and completes required forms.
