Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System in the Medical Pavilion is seeking an Ambulatory Clinic Nurse (RN) to join the Clinic Float Pool. This full-time daytime role provides professional nursing care in outpatient clinics, performing assessments, documentation, planning, implementation and evaluation to support patient comfort and well-being.

The Nurse will coordinate with clerical and medical staff, assist with pre-visit planning, manage triage calls, perform injections, spirometry and EKGs,

Qualifications

• High school education required.
• Associate Degree in Nursing required; RN license must be active.
• Bachelor degree in Nursing preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accurately enters data in Hospital and Clinical information systems; assists with medical records as needed.
• Completes FMLA and STD paperwork for provider approval.
• Coordinates with clerical and medical staff to ensure efficient patient flow and quality care and satisfaction.
• Provides care team support and pre-visit planning to occur prior to patient visits.
• Performs injections, spirometry and EKGs as needed.
• Rooms patients and collects vitals; provides MyChart instructions and promotes patient engagement.
