Job summary

Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, part of Optum, is seeking an Registered Nurse in Houston to provide direct patient care on a clinical unit. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and exercise leadership under supervision to ensure safety and comfort for patients and families.

Requirements include a Texas RN license, BLS, and 6+ months of clinical experience; EpicEMR experience is a plus. We offer competitive hourly pay and comprehensive benefits in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an approved professional registered nursing program.
• Current and valid Texas RN license.
• Current BLS through American Heart Association.
• 6+ months of experience in a clinical area. 1 year KSC experience may be considered in lieu of 6 months RN experience with approval from Sr Dir Nursing Services.
• Computer experience
• Ability to use equipment and related supplies for selected patient population for the assigned clinical area including CPR, oxygen administration, and intravenous therapy.

Responsibilities

• The Registered Nurse provides nursing care to patients in an assigned clinical area and leadership on the unit, under the supervision of a Nurse Supervisor, or RN Coordinator.
• The RN applies clinical nursing knowledge and utilizes demonstrated skills to ensure the safety and comfort of patients and families according to legal, organizational and professional standards.
• The RN utilizes critical thinking to identify priorities and make judgments concerning basic and comprehensive needs of multiple patients in order facilitate appropriate and timely care.
