Job summary

Tohono O'odham Nation Health Care seeks an experienced Nursing Department Manager to oversee ambulatory care services and nursing staff. The role entails planning, directing, and evaluating programs while ensuring compliance with HIPAA, privacy, infection control, and accreditation standards.

The incumbent will manage a substantial budget and collaborate with the Nurse Executive Team to align policies with organizational goals and population needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or higher degree from a professional nursing program approved by the designated state‑accrediting agency.
• One year of ambulatory care experience in a clinical or urgent care setting.
• One year of supervisory experience.
• Active, current, and unrestricted nursing license in a state or territory.
• Certifications in CPR, AED, and First Aid at hire.

Responsibilities

• Oversee ambulatory care department and nursing staff.
• Plan, organize, direct, and evaluate the ambulatory care program.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, Privacy Act, Infection Control and accrediting bodies.
• Manage department budget including ambulatory care staff, supplies, travel, and training.
• Develop and implement plans, policies, and programs for nursing services.
• Collaborate with Nurse Executive Team on staffing and strategic planning.
