Job summary

Saint Luke's is seeking a Patient Service Specialist II for our outpatient hospital setting in Overland Park, KS. You will greet patients, admit/register, verify insurance, process co-pays, schedule appointments, and communicate wait times to patients and guests, ensuring a caring, efficient experience.

You will perform general clerical tasks, coordinate with the Financial Clearance Center, handle electronic faxes, and upload patient information to the EMR (Epic).

Qualifications

• Experience in a medical ambulatory setting is preferred.
• Insurance verification and co-payment processing experience is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients at the front desk and assist with admissions/registrations.
• Verify insurance and process co-payments for facility and provider.
• Schedule and coordinate appointments to meet eligibility.
• Keep patients informed about waiting times and delays.
• Perform general clerical tasks: phones, emails, reminders.
• Coordinate with the Financial Clearance Center to communicate benefits and patient responsibility.
• Process electronic faxes and ensure timely handling.
• Scan and upload patient information to the EMR (Epic).
• Work onsite in clinic.
