Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Ambulatory Outpatient Cardiac Surgery unit at the Main Campus in Cleveland. You will work with cardiothoracic surgeons and the Cardiac Pre-Op team to ensure patients are properly prepared for surgery while delivering exceptional care.

This role involves detailed, patient-facing responsibilities and collaboration with a skilled team to support high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program and hold RN licensure.
• Current state RN license.
• BLS certification.
• ACLS certification within six months of hire in areas with moderate sedation and/or cardiac stress testing.
• One year of recent RN or related clinical healthcare experience; ambulatory/Cardiac setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care in an ambulatory setting.
• Assess health status and develop care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments.
• Initiate CPR and emergency measures.
• Notify physicians of abnormal findings.
• Assist with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and equipment.
• Educate patients and families on health care and procedures.
• Cover other nursing roles within the department.
• Travel within the region to support clinics and procedures as needed.
