Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum one year of accounts receivable experience in a hospital setting preferred; experience can substitute.
• Knowledge of computers with Windows-based systems and Microsoft Office preferred. Proficient in medical terminology. Must be detail oriented.

Responsibilities

• Maintains the revenue cycle workflow including posting electronic and paper remittances
• Reviews and corrects clearinghouse errors
• Responds to phone calls from patients regarding balances
• Posts charges as needed
• Reviews unpaid claims and resolves issues with insurance companies
• Reviews overdue accounts and sends to collection as needed
• Creates and prepares documentation for refunds to insurance companies and patients
