Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent education.
• 3-5 years of Medical/Hospital Insurance collections experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with UB-04, CPT, ICD-9 and EOB interpretation.
• Knowledge of aging reports and insurance terminology.
• Proficient with Windows-based billing software and MS Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Handle billing and collections for timely and accurate claim submission.
• Resolve non-payments, denials, and respond to billing questions.
• Review patient accounts and follow up on aging accounts.
• Maintain aging less than 90 days and maximize cash flow.
• Access payer websites, prepare manual re-bills and electronic submissions.
• Document collection activities accurately and thoroughly.
• Identify issues and provide suggestions for resolution.
