Qualifications

• 2-3 years previous collections experience in healthcare insurance.
• Medical terminology knowledge.
• Experience with Advantx (Patient Accounting System) preferred.
• Ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Time management and prioritization of emergent situations.
• Strong customer service and professional demeanor.
• Typing 45-60 WPM.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
• Experience with electronic patient information systems.
• Familiarity with Electronic Health Records and willingness to train.

Responsibilities

• Follow up on delinquent surgery center claims.
• Communicate with insurance carriers and patients about balances and payments.
• Identify accounts with overpayments or underpayments and issue credit balances.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism per policies and procedures.
• Work well under stress with patience and tact in a fast-paced environment.
