Job summary

Essentia Health’s Ada EMS ambulance team seeks an EMT-level professional to respond to emergency and non-emergency calls, assess patients, provide on-scene care, and coordinate handoffs with hospitals. The role requires state licensure, NIMS training, and valid driving credentials.

Dual licensure in Wisconsin and Minnesota is preferred for Wisconsin locations. The position emphasizes patient- and family-centered care, with comprehensive benefits and opportunities for development within Essentia

Qualifications

• State background check must provide clearance to work with vulnerable adults
• NIMS 100, 200, 700
• Must meet driving requirements and insurer criteria for Essentia Health
• Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license per licensing agency
• Wisconsin location staff must be dual licensed in Minnesota and Wisconsin

Responsibilities

• Responds to emergent and non-emergent calls, assesses and treats patients for emergency needs and provides care at the scene and during transit
• Reports patient information to medical staff in a timely and accurate manner
• Communicates with medical care facility about patient condition and time of arrival
• May assist hospital staff per RN direction based on training and scope of care
