Job summary

Express is seeking an Associate Amazon Planner in Columbus to develop and maintain sales and inventory plans for Amazon, analyze performance, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize pricing, promotions, and inventory productivity.

The role requires strong analytical skills, advanced Excel proficiency, and experience with inventory planning. You will deliver timely recommendations and support strategic initiatives within Express's guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, planning & allocation, or related field.
• 3–5 years of merchandise planning experience (e-commerce or partnership channel preferred).
• Experience building, maintaining, and reconciling sales and inventory plans.
• Strong analytical skills, financial acumen, and retail math proficiency.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial modeling, formulas, lookups, pivot tables and data validation.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, including presenting business findings and recommendations.
• Experience with Amazon Seller Central a plus; ability to learn platform-specific processes required.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and validate inventory and financial plans at the class / SKU level to support Amazon sales, margin, and inventory productivity goals.
• Analyze business performance against plan and identify financial risks and opportunities.
• Support open-to-buy process by tracking inventory investments, forecasting receipts and identifying variance to plan.
• Provide pre-season assortment, choice count, inventory depth and product flow recommendations with Strategic Partnership leadership.
• Analyze historical sales, current trends, marketing spend and inventory performance to support demand forecasting and replenishment.
• Monitor Amazon inventory health, including availability, weeks of supply, sell-through, aged inventory and carrying costs; recommend actions to improve productivity.
• Prepare, execute and validate approved Amazon pricing and promotional activity, ensuring alignment with financial objectives.
• Analyze SKU and assortment performance to identify opportunities for improved productivity, replenishment and inventory optimization.
• Prepare and present weekly, monthly, and quarterly business reporting, identifying performance drivers, key learnings, risks, opportunities, and recommended actions.
• Identify opportunities to improve planning tools, reporting processes and operational efficiency; support implementation of agreed upon improvements.
