Job summary

ZippyApp Talentral Corp. in Palo Alto, CA is seeking a part-time Line Cook/Prep Cook to prepare menu proteins and support kitchen operations. You will work with the Steam Station Team and Culinary Manager to ensure guests receive hot, fresh meals during shifts.

Ideal candidates have Line Cook or Prep Cook experience in BOH roles, with a focus on consistency, speed, and safe handling of food within a busy restaurant environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Use commercial equipment to prepare menu proteins as ordered.
• Ensure adequate quantity to handle expected volume.
• Coordinate with Steam Station Team to manage cooking flow.
• Communicate with Culinary Manager to serve guests hot and fresh.
• Do not serve any product not prepared to specification.

Prep, prepare, and assemble food according to menu specifications while keeping work areas clean and maintained and stocked throughout shift hours.Salary: $16/hr-$17hr plus tips ranging from $3-$5 hourly on averageLine Cook / Prep Cook is generally offered as a part time restaurant job.Prior experience as Line Cook, prep cook, grill cook, fry cook, kitchen team, station cook, or other Back of the house (BOH) part time restaurant job highly desirable.

Requirements/Responsibilities

• Use commercial equipment to expertly prepare menu proteins.
• Ensure that enough product is being cooked that is sufficient to handle volume levels in store.
• Communicate with Steam Station Team members (if both positions are staffed) to coordinate efficient product cooking.
• Communicate with Culinary Manager and Culinary Lead to ensure that guests are served in a timely manner with hot, fresh food.
