Lemon Grove School District is seeking an ECE Classroom Assistant for the Early Childhood Education Center in Lemon Grove, CA. The role supports instruction for 3-5 year olds under teachers’ direction, with a focus on developmentally appropriate activities and reporting progress.

The position is part-time, with a daily schedule from 8:15am to 11:45am, Monday through Friday, during 204 paid school days per year. Prior experience and ECE coursework are preferred, and bilingual skills are valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (required).
• One year experience working with 3-5 year old children (required).
• Six Early Childhood Education or Child Development Units (required).
• Two years of study beyond high school (preferred).
• Bilingual in English/Spanish - Fluent (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Tutor individual or small groups under teacher guidance.
• Prepare lessons and administer assessments.
• Assist in creating a supportive learning environment for 3-5 year olds.
• Assist with materials, centers, and displays.
• Monitor and report student progress and behavior.
• Supervise activities and ensure health and safety of students.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent (required)

One year experience with 3-5 year olds (required)

Six ECE units (required)

Two years study beyond high school (preferred)
