Job summary

Educational Opportunities for Children and Families (EOCF) in Long Beach is seeking a Preschool Teacher Assistant to support a classroom of 3–5 year-olds. The role involves implementing developmentally appropriate activities, assisting the lead teacher, and documenting learning progress. Hourly pay ranges from $20.28 to $20.57 based on experience.

Qualified candidates will have ECE certificates or a WA ECE credential; trainees may have a high school diploma. Bilingual skills are highly desired.

Qualifications

Certificate of Proficiency in Early Childhood Education, current CDA certificate, or WA State Initial Certificate in ECE.
High School Diploma or Equivalent.
One year of experience working with children ages 3–5 in an early childhood setting.
Bilingual highly desired.

Responsibilities

Support the delivery of curriculum aligned with Head Start and ECE best practices.
Assist in promoting children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
Help prepare and maintain classroom materials and learning environments.
Foster a safe, and nurturing atmosphere for all children.
Assist with documentation, assessments, and parent communication as directed.
Engage in active supervision of children, including indoor/outdoor play and mealtimes.
Collaborate with team members to ensure quality and consistency across the classroom.
