Job summary

Highgate Hotels in Dallas is seeking a professional cook to prepare all food items for Restaurants, Room Service, Employee Cafeteria and Banquets, following standardized recipes while maintaining safety and quality standards. The Joule Dallas kitchen offers a dynamic, high-volume environment with opportunities to contribute across stations.

You will work with a skilled culinary team, ensuring timely service, proper sanitation, and waste reduction.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; hotel experience preferred.
• Culinary experience required.
• Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
• Medium work - exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds frequently.
• Ability to stand during entire shift.
• Ability to withstand temperature variations hot and cold.
• Thorough knowledge of menus and hotel standards.
• Proficiency in charbroiling, poaching, deep-frying, sauté, braising, roasting and par-cooking.
• Knowledge of herbs and spices and proper use.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of all storage areas.
• Prepare food and station prep prior to opening to ensure prompt service.
• Prepare and display buffet items per hotel standards.
• Ensure proper handling and sanitation of ingredients.
• Support in banquet and employee cafeteria food preparation as directed.
• Follow hotel standard recipes; assist in other kitchen positions as needed.
• Breakdown buffets and kitchen line; store food and equipment properly.
• Ensure safe operation of kitchen equipment and comply with health regulations.
