Job summary

Highgate Hotels at The Joule Dallas, TX seeks a Banquet Chef to ensure top-quality meals, train staff, and enforce recipes, sanitation, and cost controls. You will lead kitchen operations during events, maintaining high standards and guest satisfaction.

The role requires 4+ years in a similar setting or a culinary degree with relevant experience, and the ability to manage long shifts, food cost, and staffing in a fast-paced hotel banquet environment.

Qualifications

• At least 4 years of related progressive experience; or a culinary graduate with at least 2 years in a hotel or related field.
• Knowledge of F&B preparation techniques, health department rules and liquor laws.
• Long hours sometimes required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb occasionally and 20 lb frequently.
• Maintain a warm, friendly demeanor at all times.
• Strong verbal and written communication with staff and guests.

Responsibilities

• Work with F&B managers and keep them informed of issues.
• Coordinate kitchen operations and monitor all phases of loss prevention.
• Prepare and submit required reports timely.
• Monitor quality and presentation of all food items.
• Ensure proper staffing and supervision of the banquet kitchen.
• Oversee daily kitchen activities and cost controls.
