Job summary

New Mexico State University Foundation Inc. seeks an Alumni Relations Officer to identify and coordinate alumni engagement opportunities and to support fundraising efforts. You will develop, strengthen and implement alumni programs and major events such as homecomings and reunions.

The role requires travel, strong communication skills, and the ability to work with diverse groups while managing budgets and measuring program success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a discipline appropriate to the position.
• Energetic, innovative and service‑oriented with a can‑do attitude.
• Willing to travel regionally, nationally and internationally.
• Access to reliable transportation and valid driver's license.
• Knowledge of data management techniques.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with diverse constituencies.
• Ability to plan, organize and facilitate a range of events.
• Ability to develop, prepare and deliver education programs for alumni.
• Ability to train and motivate volunteers.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates all aspects of alumni programs and services, planning and executing initiatives.
• Develops programs and projects to promote alumni relations, including mentorship and student engagement.
• Plans special events like homecomings and reunions.
• Develops and presents educational programs for alumni through lectures, seminars and webinars.
• Conducts volunteers training.
• Communicates opportunities for alumni participation via calls, emails and correspondence.
• Establishes partnerships with colleges, schools and other constituencies.
• Supports current programs and identifies new opportunities with Foundation staff.
• Prepares and maintains program budgets and evaluates metrics.
