Job summary

NC State University in Raleigh, NC, is seeking an Alumni Coordinator to develop and sustain meaningful connections with alumni, students, faculty, staff, donors, and community partners. This role advances alumni engagement initiatives, fosters lifelong relationships with the college, and supports fundraising and outreach efforts.

The position emphasizes relational skills, organization, and proactive outreach across programs and generations, with a 0.75 FTE schedule and weekend event involvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 1 year of professional experience in alumni relations, higher education, advancement, communications, student engagement, event coordination, nonprofit engagement, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Develop and support alumni engagement communication initiatives to strengthen alumni connection and affinity with the College of Education.
• Assist in creating and coordinating alumni-focused content including digital newsletters, email campaigns, donor stewardship messaging, alumni spotlights, event promotions, social media collaborations.
• Serve as a liaison with university advancement and annual giving initiatives related to alumni outreach and engagement communications.
• Support strategic communication efforts that promote alumni networking, mentoring, volunteer engagement, continuing education opportunities, and professional development.
• Maintain and support accurate alumni records, contact information, engagement tracking, and participation data.
• Analyze engagement trends and identify opportunities to increase alumni participation and connectivity across programs and initiatives.
• Cultivate and steward relationships with alumni across diverse backgrounds and regions.
• Recruit and support alumni volunteers for mentorship programs, speaking engagements, and events.
• Develop strategies to increase involvement and strengthen connections between alumni, students, faculty, and the college.
• Conduct proactive outreach to preserve institutional relationships and continuity of community knowledge.
