Job summary

Georgia State University Advancement is seeking an Assistant Director of Alumni Engagement to oversee engagement portfolios and strengthen alumni connection to the university.

Reporting to the Director of Alumni Engagement, you will design and implement portfolio initiatives, collaborate with campus partners and corporate sponsors, and help shape strategic engagement opportunities to grow lifelong donor and volunteer involvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and three years of supervisory/management experience.
• Experience in higher education is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage assigned alumni engagement portfolios, including affinity-based communities and regional networks.
• Develop portfolio-level engagement plans aligned with department priorities.
• Identify opportunities to expand alumni participation through targeted programs and partnerships.
• Increase alumni participation, retention, and progression across portfolios.
• Move alumni from participation to deeper engagement, volunteer involvement, advocacy, and philanthropy.
• Evaluate portfolio outcomes and recommend enhancements for effectiveness and sustainability.
