Job summary

University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) is seeking an Associate Director of Alumni Career Engagement to oversee campus partner programs and connect academic departments with students for career development. You will create meaningful content, develop engagement opportunities, and provide professional coaching to stakeholders to strengthen Bruin networks.

The role is hybrid, with responsibilities across program development and leadership, contributing to UCLA's mission of student career

Qualifications

• Three years demonstrated experience working with students in higher education or career development.
• Experience creating content-driven programming and engaging volunteers.
• Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat, Google Suite, Canva, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; ability to learn new software quickly.
• Experience developing, launching and managing programs, projects and initiatives.
• Experience working with recruiters and orienting/training staff and volunteers.
• Educational or nonprofit, client service-oriented experience is highly desirable.
• Skill in building career development curricula, teaching and coaching.
• Ability to deliver exemplary customer service in a diverse, dynamic environment.
• Strong time/project management, prioritization and planning.
• Collaborative with interpersonal and diplomatic communication.
• Good judgment handling confidential matters with discretion.
• Strong writing and verbal communication for presentations and audiences.
• Ability to work independently and within a large team; drive results with minimal direction.
• Strong critical thinking and analytical abilities.
• Adept at managing large data sets and disseminating insights.
• Creative and resourceful in a large, complex organization.
• Detail-oriented and highly organized with initiative.
• Familiarity with AI software in career development (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Oversee a portfolio of campus partner programs linking academic departments with students to support career development.
• Develop meaningful career content and engagement opportunities to connect Bruins with opportunities.
• Provide professional coaching and consultative services to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with UCLA Alumni Career Engagement team to expand learning, job searching, networking and volunteering resources.
• Support program creation and relationship-building to strengthen Bruin networks.
