Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a skilled Machine Operator for our Louisville, KY production site. The role involves operating and setting up machinery to shape and process aluminum products, while ensuring quality and safety standards are met. You will read blueprints, use tape measures, and perform routine maintenance as needed.

The position is contract to hire, onsite, with a daytime shift and potential overtime. Candidates should have 2–5 years in manufacturing and a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

  • Experience in industrial manufacturing machine operation.
  • Familiarity with machine operation in a metal fabrication environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret a tape measure.
  • Experience with saw operation, blueprint reading, punch press, and fabrication.
  • Ability to read and write English.

Responsibilities

  • Operate machinery involved in shaping, cutting, forming, and processing aluminum materials.
  • Set up equipment for production runs and adjust settings when permitted.
  • Inspect materials and products for quality and make adjustments as needed.
  • Check first and tenth parts to ensure specifications are met.
  • Perform routine maintenance and report issues to minimize downtime.
  • Follow safety procedures and wear protective equipment.
  • Maintain production records and ensure proper data entry on work orders.
  • Comply with ISO standards and company policies.

Job Title: Machine Operator
Job Description

The Machine Operator is responsible for operating machinery involved in the production of aluminum products. This role requires technical skills and precision in handling specialized equipment, ensuring product quality, and maintaining safety standards.

Responsibilities
  • Handle and control machines that shape, cut, form, and process aluminum materials.
  • Set up equipment according to the specifications for each production run, including loading raw materials and adjusting machine settings when permitted.
  • Inspect materials and products to ensure they meet specified standards, and make necessary adjustments to the machine or process to correct any issues.
  • Check every first and tenth part to ensure material is processed according to specifications.
  • Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure they operate efficiently and safely, including cleaning, lubricating, and notifying maintenance for repairs.
  • Follow all safety procedures and protocols, including wearing protective equipment and ensuring the work environment is hazard-free.
  • Identify and resolve issues with machinery, notifying management as needed to ensure minimal downtime in the production process.
  • Keep detailed records of production data, including clocking in and out on the work order correctly and filling in doppler numbers.
  • Follow all requirements in compliance with ISO standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

Work Environment

1st Shift from 6am to 4:30pm with an overtime day on Friday (8 hours). Work 40 hours per week with overtime required as needed.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Louisville, KY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.
