Job summary

PIMCO in Newport Beach seeks an Associate to join the Alternatives Business Management team, partnering with PMs to drive deal execution from pipeline through close. The role integrates across Legal, Operations, Finance, Tax, Risk, and Compliance to maintain deal velocity.

You will help manage deal setup, pipeline monitoring, and reporting across the private alternatives platform, gaining a holistic view of how buy-side transactions are structured and managed.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience; strong internship experience considered
• Exposure to a buy-side or sell-side trading environment preferred
• Working knowledge of Fixed Income; experience with residential loan or consumer asset classes desirable
• Compliance-related experience and/or legal background a plus
• Strong relationship skills with PMs and cross-functional teams
• Excellent communications skills; clear written and verbal communication
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
• Advanced Excel skills; familiarity with dv01, DealCloud, Power BI, and iLevel a plus
• Bachelor's degree with concentration in math, science, finance, economics or related quantitative field

Responsibilities

• Liaise with PMs and support groups to ensure policies are completed prior to close
• Coordinate with Trade Assistants and Trade Compliance for smooth trade flow
• Coordinate NST checklist process and completion
• Assist PMs with deal pipeline management and liquidity timing
• Verify pipeline info flows through to downstream reporting
• Assist Desk PMs in review of Origination and Asset Management reporting
• Respond to ad-hoc requests from Portfolio Management and other groups
