Alexandria City Public Schools is seeking an Alternative Education Teacher for Francis C. Hammond Middle School.

The role focuses on coordinating the in‑school suspension program, maintaining a structured learning environment and guiding students in replacement behaviors to complete their assignments. Collaborating with administrators and teachers, the teacher will monitor progress, report outcomes, and support PBIS/restorative practices to improve student outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field required.
• Master's degree preferred.

Responsabilités

• Coordinate and provide a supervised, structured environment for ISS students.
• Work with admin staff and teachers to coordinate academic activities.
• Instruct students on replacement behaviors using the social skills curriculum and restorative practices.
• Communicate behavior and progress to students, families, and staff.
• Monitor student progress and maintain data collection on grades and behavior.
• Support development and implementation of PBIS and restorative practices.
