Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 1-2 years of retail experience in apparel or specialty store is preferred.
  • Prior sewing experience is helpful.

Job Overview

The Alterations Customer Service Representative (CSR) is essential for the success of the Alterations department, responsible for tasks that ensure superior customer service. The CSR reports to the Store Manager and handles welcoming customers, making appointments, answering phones, pressing garments, and preparing items for pickups.

Essential Job Functions
  1. Welcome customers warmly via phone, virtual chats, and in person, demonstrating clear communication and conflict resolution skills.
  2. Manage customer flow using all systems to provide a five-star experience.
  3. Meet all service vows: Prepare, Welcome, Meet Needs & Be There, including operational checklists and addressing customer needs.
  4. Provide exceptional service to multiple customers simultaneously, proactively resolving concerns and escalating issues when necessary.
  5. Explain how alterations enhance the dress for her event in collaboration with Alterations.
  6. Promote all alterations services and personalization options.
  7. Maintain store standards: cleanliness, organization, promotional readiness, and recovery.
  8. Uphold high dress code standards as per policy.
  9. Greet and escort alterations customers for their appointments.
  10. Press, steam, and spot clean merchandise, ensuring quality control before delivery.
  11. Build long-term customer relationships to exceed satisfaction and loyalty.
  12. Assist with inventory management, special orders, and merchandise standards.
  13. Process transactions accurately at the cash wrap to ensure customers feel celebrated.
  14. Seek assistance from the Alterations Manager for unresolved customer issues.
  15. Keep the alterations room clean and organized.
  16. Perform additional duties as assigned by store management.
Physical Demands
  • Stand, walk, sit, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and move throughout the store as needed.
  • Use hands and arms for tasks like steaming, sewing, and operating POS systems.
  • Lift up to 10 pounds.
  • See clearly at various distances and use peripheral vision.
Education & Credentials
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years retail experience in apparel or specialty store
  • Prior sewing experience is helpful
  • Experience with POS systems
