Von Maur is seeking an Alterations Associate to deliver exceptional customer service while performing a range of garment alterations, such as hemming jeans and pants. You will measure, mark, pin, sew, and finish garments to customer specifications, with attention to quality and presentation.

The role emphasizes customer experience, teamwork, and maintaining a clean work area, with opportunities for growth within a values-driven department store.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and own the customer experience.
• Measure, fit, mark, and pin garments per specifications.
• Disassemble, sew and reassemble garments as measured; press with iron/steamer.
• Repair damaged merchandise with quality workmanship.
• Perform alterations ranging from basic to moderately difficult.
• Maintain a clean department and work area.

As an Alterations Associate, your unique skills contribute to our reputation as America’s Leading Department Store. You have the opportunity to work with customers as well as execute a variety of alterations, like hemming of jeans and pants.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Own the customer experience – greet people sincerely, be friendly and thank every customer
• Measure, fit, mark, and pin garments according to customer specifications
• Disassemble, sew and/or reassemble garments according to measurements taken during fitting – use iron and steamer to prepare garments for customers
• Repair damaged or defective merchandise
• Garment work may range from basic to moderately difficult sewing/alteration procedures
• Maintain a clean department and work area

Candidates must be professionally competent in all basic and some advanced alterations.
