Von Maur is seeking an Alterations Associate to support our alterations department with a focus on providing exceptional customer service and accurate garment alterations. You will measure, pin, and tailor diverse women’s garments, from beaded formal dresses to tailored outfits, ensuring precise fit and quality.

The role emphasizes professional competence in alterations, a clean, organized workspace, and a collaborative team environment.

• Candidates must be professionally competent in all basic and most advanced alterations.

Responsibilities

• Own the customer experience – greet people sincerely, be friendly and thank every customer
• Measure, fit, mark, and pin garments according to customer specifications
• Disassemble, sew and/or reassemble garments according to measurements taken during fitting – use iron and steamer to prepare garments for customers
• Repair damaged or defective merchandise
• Garment work may range from basic to moderately difficult sewing/alteration procedures
• Maintain a clean department and work area

Job description
