Job summary

Von Maur in Atlanta is seeking an Alterations Associate to service customers, measure, fit, pin and sew garments, and repair items with care. You will greet customers, ensure a superior experience, and keep the work area clean. Beading to tailored clothing in women’s garments may be altered.

The role covers a range from basic to moderately difficult alterations, with opportunities for growth within a family-owned company that values internal promotion and provides comprehensive benefits.

• Measure, fit, mark, and pin garments according to customer specifications
• Disassemble, sew and/or reassemble garments according to measurements taken during fitting – use iron and steamer to prepare garments for customers
• Repair damaged or defective merchandise
• Garment work may range from basic to moderately difficult sewing/alteration procedures
• Maintain a clean department and work area

Job description

As an Alterations Associate, your unique skills contribute to our reputation as America’s Leading Department Store. In addition to general alterations, you will alter diverse styles of women’s garments varying from formal dresses with beading to tailored clothing.
