Qualifications

• Must possess and maintain a valid State of Pennsylvania driver license.
• Must possess and maintain a valid State of Pennsylvania paramedic certification.
• Must possess and maintain PALS certification.
• EVOC certification within 60 days of starting date.
• Must maintain ACLS and CPR certifications.
• Annual Medical Command Authorization by the Corps Physician Medical Director.
• Annual Blood Borne Pathogen/TB/Haz-Com Awareness Program.
• High School graduate.
• Completion of course work and certification as a Pennsylvania paramedic.
• A minimum of one year field experience as an EMT, EMT-P, or RN.
• Maintain 18 Continuing Education Units per calendar year.

Responsibilities

• Provides emergency and non-emergency ambulance operations with a partner.
• Administers ALS patient care following guidelines and protocols.
• Performs advanced medical interventions (airway management, IV, ECG interpretation, defibrillation).
• Monitors communication equipment and coordinates with medical command and EMS staff.
• Transport patients to treatment centers and document care and billing.
• QA/QI evaluative functions for ALS and BLS tripsheets.
• Responds promptly to emergency calls and works in variable conditions.
