Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Paramedic to respond to emergency and non-emergency ambulance requests. You will lead EMTs on calls that require Advanced Life Support and ensure ambulance readiness throughout shifts.

Responsibilities include transporting patients, providing ACLS, administering medications, and maintaining equipment. The role requires a valid IL Paramedic license and applicable certifications, with a comprehensive benefits package offered.

Qualifications

• Paramedic license with IDPH (Illinois) required.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS within 1 year of hire.
• PALS within 1 year of hire.
• ICS-100/ICS-700/ICS-800 within 6 months.
• HazMat awareness within 6 months.
• Driver's license (IL) required.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency calls to provide immediate care.
• Check ambulance readiness and clean vehicles daily.
• Communicate crew and vehicle status clearly at all times.
• Provide direction to EMTs on calls with ACLS.
• Transport patients when needed.
• Assess blood glucose and provide treatment as needed.
• Monitor heart rhythms and perform ACLS as required.
• Administer medications via IV/IO/IM/SQ/IN routes.
• Intubate adult and pediatric patients.
• Manage airway during transport.
• Assist in out-of-hospital childbirth and care of mother and baby.
