Job summary

Northwestern Mutual is seeking an ALM-focused analyst to support the Derivatives Management and ALM within Public Investment in Milwaukee. The role emphasizes spread lending, annuity product ALM, and hedging program support.

You will analyze duration, key rate duration, and cash flows, then translate findings into investment implications while collaborating across teams to drive value and maintain high standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, actuarial science, or related field.
• CFA designation (or progress toward) or master’s degree preferred.
• 3–5 years of experience in asset allocation, annuity ALM, derivative execution support, or related investment analytics.

Responsibilities

• Perform ALM analysis for spread lending and annuity products, including duration and cash flow assessments.
• Develop recommendations for ALM activity and repositioning to drive value for annuity products and spread lending.
• Assist with derivative strategy analysis and execution support; develop knowledge to execute derivative transactions.
• Provide modeling and analytical support related to portfolio assets and liabilities, including private and structured assets.
• Partner with portfolio managers, traders, actuaries, and other stakeholders in product and portfolio management.
• Maintain high attention to detail and ownership in delivering accurate investment analyses.
