Astrya Global is hiring a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a 13-week assignment in Potosi, Missouri. The position offers 3 twelve-hour shifts per week with a guaranteed 35 hours and scheduling of 36 hours on-site in a skilled nursing facility.

The role includes patient evaluation, therapy administration, equipment management, emergency response, and collaborative care planning with clinicians. Missouri licensure maintenance and NBRC credentials are required.

Qualifications

• Active RRT or CRT certification with NBRC credentials.
• Maintaining state licensure in Missouri as required.
• Experience in a skilled nursing facility setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients with respiratory issues and interpret tests.
• Administer treatments including oxygen, ventilation support, and inhalation therapy.
• Set up and monitor respiratory equipment; ensure proper function.
• Respond promptly to respiratory emergencies and aid in care plans.
• Educate patients/families on device use and COPD/asthma management.
• Document assessments, treatments, and progress accurately.

Term: 13-week assignment with the potential for extension

Pay Rate: $45 - $48/hr

Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a RRT for a temporary assignment in Potosi, Missouri. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.

Responsibilities for a RRT:

• Evaluate patients with breathing difficulties or cardiopulmonary issues by reviewing medical history, conducting physical exams, and interpreting diagnostic tests such as blood gases, chest X-rays, and pulmonary function tests
• Administer treatments to improve breathing, such as oxygen therapy, mechanical ventilation, chest physiotherapy, and inhalation therapy (e.g., nebulizer treatments)
• Set up and monitor equipment like ventilators, oxygen tanks, CPAP machines, and other respiratory devices; ensure proper function and maintenance of equipment
• Respond to emergency situations like respiratory failure, asthma attacks, or trauma, providing immediate life‑saving interventions
• Educate patients and families on managing chronic respiratory conditions such as COPD, asthma, and sleep apnea; teach proper techniques for using respiratory devices and medications
• Collaborate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans for patients with respiratory conditions
• Maintain accurate records of patient assessments, treatments, and progress; document any changes in the patient’s respiratory condition or treatment plan
• Assist patients in pulmonary rehabilitation programs designed to improve respiratory function, increase exercise tolerance, and reduce symptoms
• Maintain valid state licensure and required certifications (CRT or RRT) through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
• Work 3 twelve‑hour shifts per week with a guaranteed 35 hours and scheduling of 36 hours
• Provide care services in a skilled nursing facility setting
