Job summary

Astrya Global Medical Staffing seeks a Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a 12-week assignment in Marshfield, MO. The contract includes 12-hour shifts on a rotating 36/48 schedule with pay rates of $45–$48 per hour.

Responsibilities include evaluating patients with respiratory issues, administering treatments, setting up and monitoring ventilators and related devices, responding to emergencies, and documenting patient progress while maintaining licensure and NBRC credentials.

Qualifications

• Licensed Respiratory Therapist with active state licensure (NBRC credentials preferred).
• Strong critical thinking and ability to respond to emergencies.
• Experience documenting patient assessments and treatments.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients with breathing difficulties or cardiopulmonary issues by reviewing medical history, performing exams, and interpreting tests.
• Administer treatments to improve breathing (oxygen therapy, ventilation, chest physiotherapy, inhalation therapies).
• Set up and monitor respiratory equipment (ventilators, oxygen tanks, CPAP) and ensure proper function.
• Respond to emergencies with life-saving measures as needed.
• Educate patients and families on managing chronic respiratory conditions and device use.
• Collaborate with healthcare team to develop and implement care plans.
• Maintain accurate records of patient care and progress.

Schedule: 7:00AM - 7:00PM x 3
Term: 12-week assignment with the potential for extension
Pay Rate: $45 - $48/hr

Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a RRT for a temporary assignment in Marshfield, MO. These positions are 12-week contracts with the ability to extend.

Responsibilities for a RRT:

• Evaluate patients with breathing difficulties or cardiopulmonary issues by reviewing medical history, conducting physical exams, and interpreting diagnostic tests such as blood gases, chest X-rays, and pulmonary function tests
• Administer treatments to improve breathing, such as oxygen therapy, mechanical ventilation, chest physiotherapy, and inhalation therapy (e.g., nebulizer treatments)
• Set up and monitor equipment like ventilators, oxygen tanks, CPAP machines, and other respiratory devices; ensure proper function and maintenance of equipment
• Respond to emergency situations like respiratory failure, asthma attacks, or trauma, providing immediate life-saving interventions
• Educate patients and families on managing chronic respiratory conditions such as COPD, asthma, and sleep apnea; teach proper techniques for using respiratory devices and medications
• Collaborate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans for patients with respiratory conditions
• Maintain accurate records of patient assessments, treatments, and progress; document any changes in the patient's respiratory condition or treatment plan
• Assist patients in pulmonary rehabilitation programs designed to improve respiratory function, increase exercise tolerance, and reduce symptoms
• Work 12-hour shifts on a rotating 36/48 schedule
• Maintain valid state licensure and required certifications including CRT or RRT credential through the NBRC
• Apply proficiency in respiratory equipment and technology in patient care delivery
• Utilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills, particularly in emergency situations
