Job summary

Astrya Global Medical Staffing is seeking a Physical Therapist for a 13-week contract in Hot Springs, South Dakota. Schedule is 8:00 AM–4:00 PM, five days a week, with potential extension. Pay is $57–$62 per hour, paid weekly.

You will coordinate PT services, provide direct therapeutic care, teach rehabilitation skills, develop and adjust plans of care, document all care thoroughly, and ensure compliance with Medicare, state, and payer requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level PT licensure and active practice in the field.
• Ability to coordinate PT services and teach rehabilitation skills.
• Experience documenting skilled care and discharge planning.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate PT services and provide direct therapeutic care.
• Develop and revise a plan of care with goals and discharge planning.
• Perform treatments using heat, electrical stimulation, ultrasound as applicable.

Pay Rate: $57 - $62/hr

Astrya Global, a San Diego based medical staffing agency, is hiring a PT for a temporary assignment in Hot Springs, South Dakota. These positions are 13-week contracts with the ability to extend.

Responsibilities for a PT:

• Coordinate PT services, providing assigned clients with direct therapeutic care, and teaching rehabilitation skills to the client and/or caregiver that promote maximum client independent functionality and safety
• Provide preventive and rehabilitative PT procedures individualized to the client and according to age-specific needs
• Perform all duties within the scope of the physical therapy practice guidelines and in accordance with productivity standards
• Develop and revise a plan of care based on the initial assessment, continual reassessment of client/family needs, client history, diagnosis, physician orders, expected outcomes, and client goals to include discharge plans when appropriate
• Perform or monitor the application of treatments involving the use of physical agents such as heat, water, and electricity, using equipment such as whirlpool baths, electrical muscle stimulation, and ultrasound
• Follow utilization guidelines and protocols
• Formulate and implement appropriate teaching plans, and communicate significant clinical findings and changes to the physician and other involved personnel, including clients
• Document all skilled and medically necessary care thoroughly, timely, and accurately
• Ensure plans of care, documentation, and care provided comply with Medicare, State, Federal, JCAHO, insurance, and payer requirements as well as local policy
• Maintain client and organizational confidentiality at all times
• Participate in the Quality Management (Quality Improvement) program and complete all required in-service programs to ensure standards are met and skills are kept current
• Conduct PTA and Home Health Aide supervisory visits (as applicable) and prepare and update Home Health Aide written instructions according to local policy
• Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants and Home Health Aides in accordance with Federal/State laws, rules, regulations, and agency policy (as applicable)
• Participate in staff meetings, case conferences, business development meetings, and customer service programs as required
• Deliver a high level of customer service to all internal and external customers
• Demonstrate leadership competencies through communication and relationship building, developing self and others, and teamwork
