Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • CPR certification preferred.
  • 3 years of medical practice experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of allergy testing methods and immunotherapy protocols.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with EMR systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform allergy testing (skin prick, intradermal, patch tests).
  • Administer allergy immunotherapy injections and sublingual treatments.
  • Prepare and mix allergen extracts per physician protocols.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, tests, and treatment plans.
  • Educate patients on testing procedures and management.
  • Monitor for adverse reactions and provide care as needed.
  • Maintain clean, infection-control compliant clinical area.
  • Order and manage allergy testing and treatment supplies.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and healthcare team.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Position Summary

The Allergy Technician will assist in the delivery of high-quality allergy care to patients. The role involves performing allergy testing, administering allergy immunotherapy, and providing patient education under the supervision of a physician. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, excellent interpersonal skills, and a passion for patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform allergy testing, including skin prick tests, intradermal tests, and patch tests.
  • Administer allergy immunotherapy injections and sublingual immunotherapy treatments.
  • Prepare and mix allergen extracts according to physician protocols.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including test results and treatment plans.
  • Educate patients on allergy testing procedures, treatment plans, and allergy management.
  • Monitor patients for adverse reactions to allergy tests and treatments and provide appropriate care as needed.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and organized clinical environment, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols.
  • Order and manage inventory of allergy testing and treatment supplies.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members to provide coordinated patient care.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • High School graduate or G.E.D. equivalent required.
  • CPR Certification preferred.
  • Three (3) years prior experience in a medical practice preferred.
  • Knowledge of allergy testing methods, immunotherapy protocols, and related medical terminology.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced clinical environment.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
