Job summary

Propio Language Services is seeking independent contract onsite interpreters for the Houston TX metro area. You will perform consecutive interpretation between English and All Spoken Language for onsite assignments and may provide remote interpretation when needed.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Proficiency in English and All Spoken Language.
• Ability to accurately provide consecutive interpretation between English and All Spoken Language.
• Successful completion of applicable language and interpreting proficiency evaluations.
• Resume in English during application.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent education/experience.
• Basic computer and technology proficiency.
• Ability to travel to onsite assignments.
• Health/immunization requirements where applicable.
• Background/security/fingerprint/drug screening may be required.
• Agreement to confidentiality and ethics requirements.
• 1+ years interpreting experience.
• Experience in medical/legal/community/educational interpreting, as applicable.
• Relevant interpreter training, credentials, or certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate consecutive interpretation between English and All Spoken Language during onsite assignments.
• Provide remote interpretation by telephone or video when applicable.
• Follow interpreter protocols and client requirements.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with privacy and security requirements.
• Comply with HIPAA, FERPA, GLBA and client requirements.
• Interact professionally with clients and participants.
• Maintain language proficiency and subject matter knowledge.
