Job summary

Gwinnett County Public Schools is seeking a Special Education Teacher across all grades for the 2026-2027 year. The teacher will plan instruction aligned with the AKS curriculum and IEPs while supporting student development across intellectual, social, and emotional domains.

Responsibilities include collaboration with regular educators, administrative staff, and families; conducting assessments, preparing lesson plans, and applying evidence-based instructional strategies.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of GCPS AKS curriculum and content areas.
• Ability to integrate technology to enhance student learning.
• Strong oral and written communication skills and collaboration.
• Understanding of IDEIA and due process requirements.

Responsibilities

• Plan and provide learning experiences based on AKS and IEPs.
• Consult with teachers and administrators to develop academic and behavioral plans.
• Prepare written lesson plans and organize instruction effectively.
• Administer and interpret assessments; communicate results to parents and staff.
• Engage in professional growth activities and maintain records.
