Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems seeks an Algorithms Software Engineer at Level 2 or 3 to develop scalable tracking algorithms for missile systems. You will work on state estimation and model-based tracking with modern C++ and Python, delivering robust software solutions.

The role requires a STEM degree and a Secret clearance to start, with opportunities for TS/SCI as needed. Occasional travel ~10% is part of the position, and relocation assistance may be available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university and 2 years of related experience (or Master’s with 0-2 years).
• Active in-scope U.S. Government Secret clearance required to start; TS/SCI potential in same timeframe.

Responsibilities

• Develop, analyze, test, and implement extendable algorithms to improve missile tracking capabilities.
• Provide documentation for tracking algorithms including observation models, propagation models, and filters/smoothers.
• Perform data analysis and state estimation for tracking applications.
• Build toolchains and prototypes using Modern C++ and Python.
• Travel up to 10% as needed to support business requirements.
