Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems in Huntsville, AL seeks a Systems Engineer – Level 3 or 4 to join an Agile Scrum team. You will develop and analyze new algorithms for the GMD Weapon System, and improve existing ones while assessing their performance in the GFC software controlling the missile defense system.

The role requires a STEM degree with extensive experience and a current Secret clearance; travel up to 10% may be needed as part of the job.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in STEM with 5+ years experience, or Master’s with 3+ years, or PhD with 1+ year.
• Bachelor’s +8 years, or Master’s +6 years, or PhD +4 years for Sr. Principal level.
• Experience in data analysis, performance analysis, and physics/Mathematics-based algorithm development.
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly to technical and non-technical personnel.

Responsibilities

• Work in a collaborative team environment to understand, implement, and assess new capabilities and algorithms.
• Perform algorithm development and analysis which are mathematics and physics based complex solutions that are critical to BMDS performance.
