Responsibilities

Description:

Our client is a leading global systematic hedge fund with an established presence across international markets and a strong track record of deploying quantitative strategies. The firm combines sophisticated research, advanced technology and institutional capital to identify and scale systematic investment opportunities across asset classes.

As part of its continued expansion, the firm is looking to establish a new systematic US power trading business, offering a senior Portfolio Manager / Trader the opportunity to shape the mandate from the ground up. This is a high-autonomy role with strategic ownership of the investment approach, flexibility over location and the potential to launch a new office and build a dedicated team.

The Opportunity:

The firm is seeking an established systematic US Power / Financial Transmission Rights (FTR) specialist with a proven track record of developing and running profitable strategies. The successful candidate will have full discretion over the strategic direction of the mandate, with the opportunity to develop the business, scale capital and recruit a team around their investment approach.

The role is suited to a PM or senior trader with a demonstrable track record of achieving a Sharpe ratio of 2+ and generating $10m+ in PnL from systematic power strategies. Candidates will have the freedom to operate remotely anywhere in the US or explore establishing a new office, with scope to build a long-term business within a global systematic investment platform.

• Deep expertise in US power markets and FTRs, including market structure, congestion dynamics and systematic strategy development.
• Strong quantitative and technical capabilities, with experience translating research into live, scalable trading strategies.
• Experience managing risk, allocating capital and building robust systematic trading processes.
• The entrepreneurial mindset to establish a new business function, with the leadership ability to recruit and grow a team.
