Job summary
Venture Search in the United States is seeking a senior Portfolio Manager / Trader to lead a new systematic US power trading business within a global hedge fund. The role offers full strategic ownership of the mandate, with autonomy to shape research priorities, capital deployment and market coverage.
Remote work options across the US are available as the firm builds out a dedicated team, with access to institutional capital, technology and infrastructure to support scalable strategy development
Qualifications
- Senior PM or trader with proven track record in US power strategies.
- Sharpe ratio 2+ and $10m+ PnL demonstrated.
- Deep expertise in US power markets and FTRs.
- Strong quantitative and technical capabilities for live, scalable trading.
- Entrepreneurial mindset to establish and grow a new business function.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and deployment of fully systematic US power and FTR trading strategies.
- Define the strategic direction of the new business, including research priorities, market coverage and capital deployment.
- Identify and scale sources of alpha across US power markets, congestion and transmission rights.
- Own portfolio construction, risk management, performance monitoring and strategy optimisation.
- Develop the infrastructure, research processes and technology required to support a scalable trading operation.
- Recruit, develop and lead a team of quantitative researchers, traders and other specialists as the business grows.
