Job summary

A.I.S., Inc. (AIS) is recruiting Marine Biologists to work at sea aboard commercial fishing vessels in Alaska, collecting biological samples and recording data for NMFS and AFSC.

Biologists deploy for 2–10 day trips, log gear and activity data, and document interactions with marine life. After a three‑week paid training in Seattle, you will be deployed from ports across Alaska for extended periods.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in natural sciences with relevant biology coursework.
• Experience with data entry on computers.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.

Responsibilities

• Travel on vessels 2–10 days, log gear and fishing activities.
• Set up a deck station to collect catch, bycatch data, and document wildlife interactions.
• Attend three-week paid training in Seattle, then deploy to Alaska ports.
