Job summary

A.I.S., Inc. invites qualified individuals to join the At-Sea Monitor program as Marine Biologists, collecting data and samples aboard commercial fishing vessels along the US coast.

After a 3-week in-person training in Falmouth, MA, monitors are deployed to ports across New England and Mid-Atlantic states. Candidates must be prepared for extended deployments, able to lift, and willing to commit to at least one year.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Bachelor's degree in biology with 30 biology credits and 6 marine science credits preferred.
• Experience with data entry on computers is expected.
• Candidates must be U.S. citizens or legally authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Record data and collect biological samples on commercial fishing vessels.
• Work on deck aboard vessels 20' to 100' for 1 to 14 day trips.
• Attend a 3-week paid training in Falmouth, MA.
• Maintain documentation of data, gear, and fishing activity.
• Travel and living arrangements covered; hourly compensation provided.
