Job summary

SLR Consulting (Americas) is hiring an Environmental Scientist/Engineer in Alaska. You will support site investigation, environmental assessment, and remediation efforts, with regular travel to field locations and a focus on data interpretation and regulatory compliance.

The role emphasizes fieldwork, groundwater monitoring, and collaboration with project managers, offering growth opportunities within a large, multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in geology, hydrogeology, engineering, chemistry, physics, environmental science, or related field.
• 3–7 years of relevant work experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
• Willing to commit to field assignments of up to two weeks away from home office (Anchorage or Fairbanks).
• Ability to travel by car, plane, helicopter, or motor vessel.
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Assist with data interpretation and preparation of site work plans, spreadsheets, figures, and technical reports.
• Support Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and permit applications.
• Coordinate groundwater monitoring programs and field activities.
• Maintain safety documentation and project quality, budget, and schedule.
• Assist with site mapping, lithologic/hydrogeologic data collection, and lab coordination.
