Job summary

SLR Consulting (Americas) is seeking a Project Environmental Scientist/Engineer to join the Alaska Land and Water Group. The role covers site investigation, environmental assessment, and site remediation with opportunities for fieldwork across Alaska and related travel.

You will support data interpretation, permit activities, and groundwater monitoring while engaging with clients and regulatory agencies. A BS in a relevant field and 3–7 years’ experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Geology, Hydrogeology, Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Environmental Science, or related field.
• 3 to 7 years of relevant work experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical skills, organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Experience presenting analytical results in tabular/graphical form.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
• Willing to commit to field assignments up to two weeks away from home office (Anchorage or Fairbanks); travel by car, plane, helicopter, or boat.

Responsibilities

• Assist in data interpretation and preparation of site work plans, spreadsheets, figures, and technical reports.
• Assist with Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and desktop reviews.
• Assist with obtaining permits and public utility locate requests for environmental construction tasks.
• Coordinate groundwater monitoring programs (quarterly to annual).
• Prepare site maps in plan and profile view.
• Communicate with project managers, subcontractors, regulatory agents, tenants, and clients during field activities.
• Work within quality, budget, and schedule expectations for scope-specific assignments.
• Field sampling of groundwater, surface water, soil, soil vapor, and stormwater.
