Job summary

SLR Consulting (Americas) seeks a Staff Environmental Scientist/ Engineer to join the Alaska Land and Water Group in Anchorage. You will contribute to site investigation, environmental assessment, and site remediation, including active treatment system design, with travel to field locations across Alaska.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in geology or related field.
• 0-3 years of relevant work experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist in data interpretation and preparation of site work plans, spreadsheets, figures, conceptual site models, and technical reports.
• Compliance with and assessment of requirements of environmental regulations.
• Assist with Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, including desktop document review and public records requests.
• Assist with obtaining permits and public utility locate requests for environmental construction tasks.
• Coordinate groundwater monitoring programs (i.e., quarterly to annual events).
• Be engaged with the company’s Health & Safety program.
• Preparing site maps in both plan and profile view.
• Effectively communicate with project managers, subcontractors, regulatory agents, tenants, and clients during field activities.
• Work within quality, budget, schedule expectations on scope-specific assignments.
