Job summary

HDR is seeking a Federal Business Group Manager based in Alaska (Anchorage) to lead and grow our federal work portfolio with US Government clients. You will oversee the Alaska cost center, coordinate with Federal Client Development Leaders, and report to the Alaska Area Manager.

This role blends billable delivery (40–50%) with overhead activities (5–60%), including financial and personnel management, marketing, negotiations, and QA/QC, within HDR's employee-owned culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a professional, architecture, engineering or closely related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in related roles.
• Experience leading diverse teams and managing multi-discipline projects.
• Ability to develop fees, negotiate, review contracts, and oversee construction management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow HDR's federal work portfolio with US Government clients across multiple agencies in Alaska.
• Base in Alaska with Anchorage duty station and report to the Alaska Area Manager.
• Oversee Federal Business Group, perform business development to drive growth and profitability.
• Split time between billable work (40-50%) and overhead activities (5-60%) including financial and personnel management and marketing.
• Coordinate staff assignment and workload with other HDR groups; ensure contract compliance with Federal Regulations; prepare and review fee proposals, project reviews, QA/QC.
