Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking a Federal Business Group Manager based in Alaska to lead and grow the federal work portfolio with US Government clients. The role centers on building relationships, managing multi-discipline teams, and delivering complex government projects from Anchorage.

The successful candidate will balance billable work with overhead activities, drive proposals and strategy, and ensure compliance and quality across HDR's Federal practice in Alaska.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering or closely related field.
• Minimum of 10 years experience.
• Demonstrated experience with leading diverse teams.
• Committed to quality, improvement and HDR values.
• Actively engaged in professional or industry associations to enhance HDR technical expertise and brand.
• Ability to work cooperatively with regional and local office managers, other area business group directors, technical directors and marketing managers.
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Federal Business Group in Alaska cost center and drive growth and profitability.
• Split time between billable work (40-50%) and overhead activities (5-60%) including finance, personnel, and marketing.
• Oversee federal programs, project delivery, client management, QA/QC, and staff development.
• Coordinate staff assignments and workload with other HDR groups; ensure contract compliance and fee proposals.
• Prepare and review fee proposals, monitor financial performance, and implement QA/QC programs.
